Launched in 1999, ChristianCafe.com is one of the most well
organized, easy to use (or easy to learn to use) websites for single Christians.
The President and **co-founder, Sam, is a Christian with an MBA from the
Canadian equivalent of Harvard. He is driven toward excellence. He guides his
Christian family of employees to be Christ-like and strive for excellence in all
they do in service to Christian singles. Admittedly not all of the 100,000+
members are “active” all the time. However, based on the searches we conducted
over a one month period, when it comes to Search Options and Search Selection,
ChristianCafe.com is unmatched by any other Christian-owned singles site except

Unlike some websites who make you pay to email members, the

There are technically about four good ways for you to meet
Christian singles at Christian Cafe: Browse, Search Engine, Today's New
Profiles, and Who's Online.
Database size is often most important, and certainly the
larger the database, the greater the selection of single Christians for you to
meet. Hold on a minute though, there is one other important qualifier. Are the
members “active” members? Do many of them just show up once, create a profile,
and passively wait until “a fish takes the bait” and writes to them?
ChristianCafe.com answers this question for you by posting the last date that
the person logged-in to visit the site. As you browse through or search the
profiles, pay close attention to “Last On (EST)” in the upper right corner of
each profile.
About 55% of members are women. So to make things round,
55,000 female profiles, 45,000 male profiles. Just under 10% of members are 56
and older. Over 70% of members are 30+ (this obviously includes the 10% who are
56+).
But wait it gets even more interesting...
Christian Cafe has about 100,000 active profiles to search
through (this is not the same as paid members), and this doesn't include the
400,000 to 500,000 profiles that are archived (not visible). Christian Cafe
regularly removes expired profiles which have been un-accessed for 90 days and
puts these into their archives. An archived member simply has to login to
re-activate the account and make it visible again (so, obviously, many archived
members return to the site).
Also pay close attention to another helpful search feature at
Christian Cafe. Let’s say you entered a search based on gender, age, location,
hobbies, and you only want to see profiles with photos. On the left column of
the list of profiles will be a percentage figure. 100% means all your search
criteria are contained in this profile. Website Speed: Depending on how detailed
or “picky” your search results may show profiles that only meet 90% of your
requirements. Also, a very detailed or “picky” search of profiles that meet say
6 to 10 requirements is going to take longer for the system to process. So be
patient. Or choose an off-peak time when there are fewer other people searching.
The good thing is that out of say 100,000 profiles the system shows you only the
top 300 to 400 profiles that meet your search criteria. This refinement of
search results will save you a lot of time and helps you get more out of
Christian Internet Dating.
It takes quite a bit of concentration to read through lots of
profiles. Interruptions are often unwelcome. So, unless you don’t mind being
interrupted by an instant message screen popping up while you are trying to
concentrate, turn off instant messaging. However, some people are just so
friendly that they don’t mind stopping their search for a moment to say “Hi” to
someone who is online at the same time. Besides, God may just do a miracle and
let your future soul mate IM you. From an efficiency point of view, though, it
is more communicative to use e-mail to respond or reply to people who interest
you. Later on you could set up a time to meet them in the chat room for a
spontaneous chat. In helping several singles over the years we have found that
people like email the best because they can put some thought (and prayer) into
their messages. There’s nothing wrong with using the IM or chat system as well,
