There are several traits that a woman looks for in a man whether it’s for a steady relationship or a lifelong commitment. Men’s Health did a survey about what women want and here are the top results.
Earning Potential
Number 5 on the list and with 21% of women voting is the ability of a man to be able to provide for himself and his future family. Being successful in a man’s chosen career is sexy. Talent and goal-achievement are important traits that women look for as they make the woman feel confident that the man they’ve chosen can be a good provider.
Domestic Skills
Women don’t expect men to do all the household chores but they do expect a man to clean up after himself. 23% of women don’t want to be treated like the man’s mother, meaning they do all the cleaning, cooking, etc. for him. It’s important that a man knows how to cook simple things such as rice, breakfast and even one lunch or dinner meal and not survive on takeaways. It’s also a good sign if a man can operate the washing machine and do his own laundry and do the dishes.
Bedroom Action
Number 3 on the list is being good in bed. 35% of the women surveyed look for someone who can take care of them in bed. They said that this is a good sign that a man will also take care of them outside the bedroom.
Romance
Most women are born to be romantics. What woman does not want to be swept off her feet by Prince Charming? Very few men are romantic or show their softer side and that is why a woman gets easily attracted to a man who is very vocal about his feelings for her. They like men who tell them they love them through words and actions. 48% of women agree on this point.
Listening
At the top of the list are your listening skills. Women need attention especially when they are down, they have a problem, are angry or frustrated. They need to vent their emotions either to their girlfriends or their partners. Your job as a man is to be there to listen. You don’t necessarily need to have all the answers or have the solutions to her problems but the simple act of saying that you are there and that you are ready to listen or be a crying shoulder would mean the world to her. Find time to put down your gadgets and be sincere about your willingness to be a friend. 53% of women find this trait irresistible.
